How to install cPanel / WHM

To install cPanel / WHM on your server, you would need to connect to SSH. Windows users can download Putty directly from http://billing.gigatux.com/downloads.php and use Putty to connect to their server trough the popular SSH protocol.

When you are connected as root, you need to run the following commands.

Important: Make sure that the server is a clean install of CentOS, no other scripts, software or any modifications should have been done.

  1. Run the following command wget http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/latest to download the cPanel installer
  2. When the download is complete, run the installer by typing sh latest
This will now install cPanel / WHM, when the installer is done you can visit http://yourip.com:2086 and login with the username root and the same password you connected to SSH with.
